One Tree Hill returned with lots of Leyton, a shocking attack on Brooke, the return of psycho nanny Carrie, and plenty of Scott family adorableness.

Sarah, Mia and I have differing opinions on the One Tree Hill premiere. We found Leyton a little too sappy, but we're looking forward to see what's next for them. We're excited about the return of evil Victoria -- we think she and Dan should team up to form the ultimate evil couple. But Dan's in no shape to pursue a partner in crime... he's the victim of one now that he's held captive by crazy Carrie, who finds great pleasure in torturing him. We want more Nathan and Haley, but we're worried about Nathan covering up his back pain. And we have mixed feelings on Mouth and Millicent's departure (you know Sarah's loving it, though!).

After watching last night's premiere of America's Next Top Model we can be sure of one thing: if you wanna be on top, you gotta be over the top. The diversity of the girls who finally made it into the house would have been interesting if only this crop weren't so catty. But we're getting ahead of ourselves.

Before the final cuts to make it to the final 14, the girls are bussed to a "secret location" and met by futuristic-looking Jay Manuel and Ms. Jay Alexander. We're not exactly sure what happened to Jay Manuel's hair during this portion of the show - it looked like he borrowed one of Tyra's weaves, put it in the spin cycle and put it back on his head. The Jays welcome the girls, open the door to the Top Model Institute of Technology and let the shrieking begin!

Sarah thinks this is the worst episode ever. Mia and I haven't seen enough episodes to say for sure, but it's definitely our least favorite of what we've seen so far.

We're not fans of the script, the concept, or the guest actress. Was the sex scene enough to save this episode? Was Cassie compelling enough to be Dean's old love? Can we really accept a racist ghost truck as the villain... or at all?

Our answer to all of these questions is an emphatic "no!" We can't be alone in our "Route 666" dislike, so join us in the episode-bashing in the comments if you don't like this one, either. But we also know there are a few fans of this one out there -- some of you have already let us know in comments for past podcasts. And we want to hear from you, too (though you probably won't change our minds).

90210 is finally here and started with a two-hour season premiere. It is almost impossible to watch this show and not compare it to the original. The Walsh family has been replaced with the Wilsons. Harry Wilson brings his wife, Debbie, and two kids, Annie and Dixon, to live with his mother as he starts his position as principal at West Beverly. It becomes obvious rather quickly that the family is "not in Kansas anymore". The new cast of characters are definitely good-looking ones (even the parents are hot this time around), but we're not completely sold on the show itself. The potential is there, but the premiere tried to do too many things too soon.

GG hit the Hamptons for the season premiere, and the action started right away -- literally, in the case of Nate and his older, married lover. They weren't the only ones getting busy, though... Dan has turned into quite the playboy and Blair has a new man, too, much to Chuck's dismay.

We love Blair/Chuck angst and the return of witty Eric, rant about Dan's hypocrisy and Marcus's lame British accent, and are indifferent to Rufus and Jenny. Plus, there's Serena and Dan's reconciliation and the notable absence of Vanessa, Lily, and Bart to discuss (do we miss them?). And Sarah and Mia call me out for my love of Rufus's Lincoln Hawk song from last season (I'm not alone here, right?).

90210 finally hits the screen today, and everyone is all atizzy. The show is on the cover of three big magazines, and countless articles are counting down the the premiere. We couldn't be happier! We'll admit it, we're as dizzy with anticipation as everyone else. That's why we've been diving into all the background on the show, especially the bits about Shannen Doherty's and Jennie Garth's on-set reunion.

Entertainment Weekly has a great cover feature on the pair, where they talk about what it's like revisiting the characters (Shannen admits even SHE didn't like Brenda sometimes!) and spill about past conflicts. No, there were no off-set fistfights, the pair says, but there were a couple of incidents where the guys had to separate them. "No, we never punched each other," Shannen says. "Scratching? I'm not going to deny that," says Jennie. Hee!

The two also talk about what they wanted from renewing their old 90210 characters. They dismiss any talk of a love triangle: "That was one of the things I was adamant about: Brenda Walsh would not fight for a guy anymore," Shannen says. "There are bigger, more important things in her life." Plus, Brenda is apparently trying to set Kelly up with a hottie, even offering to babysit her (poing!) 4-year-old son.

There's lots more -- even a video from the photo shoot, and check out the hysterical background on the blackboard -- plus it's a great, candid interview, and it has us champing at the bit for the show. Bring it on!

That's just the tip of the media iceberg -- Shannen graces the cover of Us Magazine, and 90210 is the cover story for this week's TV Guide.

What a premiere! We loved some parts, but others were really difficult to watch. There was romance with Lucas and Peyton, adorable family dynamics with Nathan, Haley and Jamie, relationships moving forward with Mouth/Millicent and Deb/Skills... and two seriously disturbing plotlines involving Dan and Brooke that still have us feeling uneasy.

Pleasant storylines first. We found out the answer to one of OTH's biggest cliffhangers! Lucas called Peyton and proposed -- were you surprised? One Tree Hill tried to fool us by opening the episode with an extended dream sequence where we got to see Lucas imagining married life one year in with each of the three ladies. But it was Peyton who showed up at the airport, thrilled that her moment with Lucas had finally arrived.

Lucas and Peyton headed for Vegas wrapped in each other's arms. But not everyone was having as happy a time back in Tree Hill. Let's recap:

Evil Victoria has returned to make Brooke's life miserable. She informs Brooke that she owns part of the company, and if she wants to, she can take over the whole thing and leave Brooke with nothing. Stunned, Brooke tries to defend herself, but Victoria, as usual, has the last word, telling poor Brooke that she'll be lucky if she can even get into the community college. Could she be any meaner to her daughter?

Later, at the store, Brooke vents to Millicent and catches a girl shoplifting one of her tops. Brooke grabs the girl: "Come with me" -- but the girl ends up shoving her aside and running out. It's just not Brooke's day.

It's been a long summer -- just long enough for the Upper East Siders to cause all kinds of mischief, from Europe to the Hamptons. Welcome back, Gossip Girl!

Since we last saw the gang, Nate's been hooking up hardcore with a thirtysomething married woman, Serena's been moping about Dan and dodging cute lifeguards, and Dan is Lonely Boy no longer -- he's turned into a major player who's so busy dating he's slacking off on his writing. Meanwhile, Chuck regrets his decision to leave Blair stranded in Tuscany, but Blair's exacted revenge in the form of a hot new boyfriend that she's brought back to the Hamptons. Oh, and Jenny's toiling away at fashion school, being verbally abused by her boringly one-note evil teacher. Got that?

For some reason, Nate and Serena feel the need to deceive everyone and pretend they're in a relationship (why no one is allowed to just be single in the Hamptons is beyond us). But the situation is no longer kosher with S when she catches a boxer-clad Nate racing for safety after a midafternoon rendezvous at his lover's house. Wait, he's fooling around with a married woman? She wants no part in the coverup, but Nate convinces her it's over. Really.

There's a big white party coming up in the Hamptons, and Jenny really wants to go, so she makes a dress for her evil instructor to wear, who verbally rips it to shreds. Ouch. Looks like Lil' J has to come crawling back to Eric for an invite, who takes her back as a friend (too quickly, in our opinion) and agrees to get her into the party.

Work isn't going well for either Humphrey -- Dan ends up getting fired from his gig working for an author because he can't produce any writing. He begs for another chance, but he's had too many already. Looks like Dan hasn't quite figured out the whole life/work balance thing.

Yes, we know it's Labor Day, but we've got something worth abandoning the barbecue for: Gossip Girl is back tonight at 8/7c! We're thrilled, of course, and we're not alone. A whole bunch of publications are sharing the GG love.

*Salon talked with Leighton Meester, who explains why she thinks so many people are entranced with her Queen B character, dishes on how she deals with all the gossip about her and her co-stars, and shares what actors inspire her. She even gives a shout-out to Bette Davis, one of the original tough broads of the golden age of cinema. We like the way this girl thinks!
